Bill Alexson is a pianist, composer, arranger, and producer who lives in Chattanooga, TN. Bill is a classically-trained pianist who taught himself to play jazz in high school. After becoming the inaugural Woods Piano Scholar at Belmont University in Nashville, he successfully auditioned for Belmont's top jazz ensemble as a freshman.
Music for Missions producer Eric Parker recruited Bill and his band Scenic City Jazz in early 2011 to record the latest Music for Missions release. When The Street Lights Come On features 7 original compositions and one standard. Proceeds from the album will benefit International Justice Mission to aid in the fight against modern-day slavery.Bill plays a wide variety of musical styles, including rock, classical, jazz, pop, sacred, and folk music. He has performed with the Eric Parker Band and Steve Babb of progressive rock band Glass Hammer.
