Eric Parker is the founder and president of Music for Missions, Inc. Inspired by the testimony of Gary Haugen, president of the International Justice Mission, Eric founded Music for Missions in 2002 to help independent artists partner with the church to support world missions.
Eric wrote most of the material for the first Music for Missions project, A Remedy Raised, and he also contributed three tracks to the 2004 release All This Time.
As an artist, Eric's style is an eclectic mix. He builds his music around the acoustic guitar and tends to bring elements of classic and progressive rock into his work. Most notably, Eric has been playing steel and acoustic guitar with the band Glass Hammer for the last few years, and he has also donated tracks to the CPR (Christian Progressive Rock) compilations.
Upcoming Projects
A project that Eric has put on hold two times in the last year, will finally be under way in a few months. The CD From the Shoulders of Giants is a collection of hymns. While leading worship for the last ten years, Eric has put many hymns to original melodies. The CD will feature many of these hymns as well as some classic versions. Look for this disc in July 2008.
